YVR RESA 26L – South Runway

Preload, earthworks, paving and electrical construction.

From 2015 to 2017 Jacob Bros was engaged by YVR to complete all 3 phases of the Runway End Safety Area (RESA) project on the east end of Runway 08-26L, the busiest of YVR’s 3 runways. The scope of work included 40,000m3 of subgrade excavation and sand subbase installation, 30,000m3 of sand preload, special RESA pavement structure, temporary taxiway asphalt paving, 3,500 meters of electrical duct banks and related concrete vaults were built, and over 885 centerline and edge lights were installed as part of completing electrical infrastructure and landscaping. All works were completed with extreme jet blast considerations taken into account.
