Phase 1 construction of a new highway interchange.

The Admirals / McKenzie Interchange is the busiest intersection on Vancouver Island and as such, traffic control and impact mitigation were key attributes of the project. It included rock excavation, preload fill supply and installation, design and construction of proprietary MSE Walls, demolition of an existing pedestrian overpass and the installation of a temporary pedestrian overpass. The work also included construction of the Galloping Goose Trail overpass, welded steel and PVC water mains including valves and chambers, new asphalt and gravel multi-use pathways, as well as asphalt paving.
