Granville Street Reconstruction
Vancouver, 2009
Reconstruction of Granville street through the downtown core.
The $18 million Granville Street Reconstruction project was undertaken by the City of Vancouver as the final step in the restoration of Granville Street for the 2010 Winter Olympics. This high-profile project called for the complete reconstruction of 10 city blocks of Granville Street from Drake Street to Cordova Street, including reconstruction of 11 major intersections and rehabilitation of facilities impacted by Canada Line construction. Work was conducted while maintaining business access and facilitating continued movement of people and goods along this vital transportation corridor.
