Design and Construction of Hotel Blu and Residences

Located at the corner of Robson and Cambie Streets in the heart of Vancouver’s downtown core, the Hotel BLU & Residences is one of Vancouver’s newest luxury hotels. It consists of a 21-storey tower, a four-storey low-rise, and 50,000 ft² of underground parking within a gross building area of 160,000 ft2. Jacob Bros was engaged to assist with the redesign and value engineering of this mixed-use project. Subsequently, Jacob Bros was contracted to construct the building. Jacob Bros’ early involvement and management of the design team allowed for fast-tracking of permitting and construction. One of the primary project design considerations was sustainability, and this energy-efficient glass structure includes 106 strata residential units, a 75-room hotel with conference space and amenities, plus 10,200 ft2 of retail space. The scope performed and/or contracted by Jacob Bros included project management, civil and concrete works as well as interior and exterior finishes. The Hotel BLU is an AAA Four Diamond boutique hotel and is the premier property in the Mayfair Properties portfolio.
