Kwìkwèxwelhp Healing Village Access Road

Harrison Mills, BC

Construction of a 3km gravel access road for Public Works and Government Services Canada

Over the years damage to the access road leading to the Kwìkwèxwelhp Healing Village has occurred creating safety issues for travellers accessing the facility.

The project, located on the traditional lands of the Sts’ailes First Nation, involved re-surfacing and re-profiling approximately 3km of existing gravel access road, placing and compaction of imported granular fill and road capping, replacement of road culverts, ditching, installation of erosion protection barriers, and replacement of existing roadside barriers.

Jacob Bros reached out to the Sts’ailes to share information about the project and successfully recruited several interested community members to participate in the 4-month long project.
