Design and Construction of Workforce Accommodation

The camp construction was a 2 phase project with a total value of $207 million. It provided complete camp infrastructure and 500 beds in the first phase ($101 million) and a further 1,500 beds in the second phase ($106 million). Jacob Bros had the lead role in the design-build planning and construction of the recreation, maintenance & storage, and waste & recycling buildings. As well, Jacob Bros was responsible for value engineering, design management and coordination for the camp civil infrastructure. In conformance with an agreement between Manitoba Hydro and local First Nations, the civil scope (stripping, bulk fill, roads and underground utilities) were constructed by a First Nation partnership.
